Police Investigate Death In Peshtigo

Peshtigo Police Chief Fred Popp reports that investigation continues into the death of a Marinette man whose frozen body was found in a snowbank on Monday, Dec. 20 by a person walking their dog behind the Peshtigo Times main office at 841 Maple Street in Peshtigo.
The man has been identified as James (Doc) Falkenberg, 67, of Marinette, and his vehicle was reportedly found parked on the road of the rear of the Peshtigo Times building. Popp said Marinette County Sheriff's Department Detective Todd Baldwin is working with the Peshtigo Police on the investigation. Cause of death is still apparently to be determined. Comments of people at the scene were that Falkenberg appeared to have been dead for some time before his body was found, and that he may have been there since Wednesday.
Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette was reportedly assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
