Peshtigo Fire Tower Run Donates $3,000 to Community Programs

Thanks to a successful Peshtigo Fire Tower Run in September during Historical Days, The Peshtigo Fire Tower Run Committee made up of Dawn Lepinski, Josh Lepinski and Amy Cleven was able to donate $3,000 back to the Peshtigo community from funds generated by the run. Those organizations receiving donations included $750 for Peshtigo High School for the Students Eat Everyday Program, $1,000 Peshtigo Fire Department, $750 Peshtigo Run Club and the Q&A Foundation for the Badger Park playground project received $500.The Fire Tower Run committee would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the many sponsors and volunteers who helped to make the run a success. Sponsors for the 2021 run included, Bellin Health, Anderson's Culligan of Peshtigo, Lee's Family Foods, Peshtigo National Bank, Peshtigo Times, Great Lakes Custom Tool, Country Rhode RV, Edward Jones Justin Oberg, TEAM Plumbing, State Farm Insurance Rick Thill, Spangenberg Law Offices, Johnson Control, Rennes Health and Rehab Center, N.E.W. Credit Union, Schroepfer Family Dental, Stalheim Chiropractic, McClains Auto Repair, Peshtigo Veterinary Clinic, Menco Machining & Fabrication and Frank's Logging and Excavating. Special thanks to landowners; Tim and Debbie Rennes, Lynn and Larry VanHoof and John Gordon and family. Logo design was done by Elly Baumgarten, Master of Ceremonies was Joleens Cooper and coaster style medals by Iconic Etching of Peshtigo. Also a big thank you to Dianne Menor for the event photography, Peshtigo Fire Department, Bellin Health and the Peshtigo Cross Country Team their volunteer time and efforts. Finally a big thank you to the 216 runners and walkers who participated.
Top female runners and walkers included; 10K runners, Jessica VanBeek-King, Nola Hardy, Laura Finger, Kristie Sarerell and Sarah Reilly. Top five male 10K runners; Michael Holly, Kevin O'Rourke, Justin Oberg, Paul Hill and Humberto Espinosa. Top five female runners in the 5k were; Hayden Buck, Kayla Murphy, Emily Ermis, Christina Matty Schloegel and Karen Sellers. Top five male 5k runners were Reid Marquardt, Brian Cleven, Chad Zimanek, Keith Ladwig and Eli Berndt. Top three walkers in the 5k were Madison Vorpahl, Terri Neumann and Jody Nault. Plans are already underway for the 2022 run walk.
