Take Plunge??Approximately 30 people took part in the annual Yooper Plunge held Saturday, Feb. 5 in Menominee. Victory Beach was the place to watch as the plungers jumped into the icy waters of the bay. Top Photo-Team members of UW-Green Bay Marinette Campus took their turn to plunge during team competition. Yooper Winterfest Fun Held Saturday Feb. 5

The 12th annual Yooper Winterfest was held on Saturday, Feb. 5 in Menominee. Three big events were highlighted during the days activities. At 10 a.m. four teams battled it out for top spot in the Toilet Trot. The Menominee High School boy's football team took home the title again this year. At 12 noon the Plunge into the icy waters at Victory Beach began. Approximately 30 brave souls took the plunge and lived to tell about it. At 12:30 p.m. a Chill-y Cook Off was held at Murray's Irish Pub with eight participants. Those in attendance were able to cast votes for the best chill-y. At 2 p.m. presentation of awards for all the events was also held at Murray's.
Proceeds of the annual event go to help the River Cities Community Pool Association and Boy's and Girl's Club of Menominee.
