Coleman School Board May Set New Rules For Public Comment

Agenda for the Coleman School Board's regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21 includes discussion and possible adoption of a new policy to regulate public comment at school board meetings.
Setting a prom date is one of the action items for the meeting, along with possible hiring of Derek Marquardt as assistant softball coach, approval of the IEI Contract, and hiring of teachers for Pre-K, Elementary, and physical education.
Bids will be opened for the Press Box at the athletic field and the board is expected to accept one of them.
The board will also discuss the safety report, staffing for the 2022-2023 school year, the AGR report, and 2022 Summer School. There is to be a first reading of a Wellness policy.
High School Principal/Superintendent Doug Polomis will report on Wrestling, ACT, FBLA and Forensics competitions, 2022-2023 scheduling, the CESA-8 contract, January student count, Bus Driver Appreciation and the professional development day. He also will salute Baseball Coach Kent Casper on his recent induction into the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
After other business is completed the board will go into closed executive session to discuss administrative contracts, and there is a possibility of action after return to open session.
