THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE

A mobile home owned by Trevor and Aliyah Gabriel of 2430 Mary Street Lot P in Marinette was destroyed by fire on Sunday March 13. The City of Marinette Fire Department and City of Menominee Fire Department responded to the alarm at 2:27 p.m. according to Marinette Fire Chief Jay Heckel. When firefighters arrived on scene the trailer was fully engulfed in flames. No one was home at the time of the fire but several dogs perished in the blaze. Property loss of the trailer was approximately $30,000 and contents also approximately $30,000. Cause of the fire is under investigation by the Marinette Fire Department. Other fire departments responding to the alarm were Town of Peshtigo, City of Peshtigo, Grover-Porterfield and Wagner Fire Departments. Emergency Rescue Squad and Aurora Bay Area Paramedics also responded to the call. Pictured firefighters hose down the red of the Gabriel trailer to extinguish any remaining hot spots.
