Elizabeth "Betty" H. Peanasky, 91, of Marinette, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Sun Valley Homes II in Marinette.
Born July 13, 1930, to the late Joseph and Sophia (Simeth) Peanasky in Menominee, she graduated from Marinette High School and worked for the Bell System, where she retired from. She then worked in various store sales roles in Marinette.
A member of Holy Family Parish, St Joseph's Church, she taught CCD and was a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers Association and volunteered at the Salvation Army.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, drinking coffee, attending the Opera, was an avid Packer fan and proud shareholder, and loved having ice cream with her nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She will be missed by those she left behind.
Survivors include five nephews, Joseph (Renee) and two daughters, Michael (Sandy) and three daughters and a son, Paul (Dawn) and three daughters, Robert (Darla) and a daughter and son, John (Wanda) and a daughter, a sister-in-law, Betty Peanasky and many cousins, Steve (Kathy) Herning, Mary Woleske and Marianne (Tom) Mainhardt, all of who took care of her in later years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Peanasky.
Visitation will be held at Holy Family Parish-St Joseph's Church, Carney Blvd on Saturday, June 4 from 10 a.m. until time of a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., with Rev. Celestine Byekwaso officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family.
