On Tuesday, June 14th The Friends of the Niagara Public Library will sponsor Niagara native and best-selling author, Andrew Graff for a discussion of his debut novel, Raft of Stars.
In the novel, the lives of two ten-year-old boys are changed forever one summer night in Wisconsin. Tired of seeing his best friend Dale Breadwin (Bread) abused by his alcoholic father, Fischer Branson (Fish), takes action. A gunshot rings out, and Bread and Fish flee into the woods. They build a raft, but the river quickly leads them into an even greater danger than the law would bring.
Andrew grew up fishing, hiking, and hunting in Wisconsin's Northwoods. After a tour of duty in Afghanistan, he earned a Masters of Fine Arts from the Iowa Writers' Workshop. He now lives in Ohio and teaches at Wittenberg University.
