Keith Michael Thoune, 67, of Wallace, Mi., passed away Monday, June 20, 2022 at his home.
Born May 7, 1955 in Flint, Mi., to Hubert and Dorothy "Jane" (Labay) Thoune. He married the former Ruth Fredrickson on May 19, 1978 in Menominee and worked at Marinette Marine from 1973 until retiring in 2016 as a pipefitter and leadman.
He enjoyed golfing, hunting season at camp, and camping throughout the U.P. with family and friends, visits to the Soo to view the ships and play at the casinos, but mostly time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He attended Gethsemane Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Wallace; his mother, Dorothy (Jane) of Wallace; three sons, Daniel (Denise) of Canton, Mi., Adam of Menominee and Ryan of Wallace; two grandchildren; a sister, Valerie Green of Morgan City, La.; six brothers, Mark and Dwight (Dorothy), both of Daggett, Todd (Dawn) and Roy (Carla), both of Menominee, Mike (Karen) of Wallace and Todd of Oconto; sisters-in-law, Donna (Don Schmelling) Maegaard of Kenosha, Barbara Anderson of Wadsworth, Ill. and Wendy Bolter of Kenosha; brother-in-law, Howard (Kelly) Fredrickson of Stephenson, Mi. and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Thoune; a sister-in-law, Kris Thoune and two brothers-in-law, Steve Anderson and Rodger Bolter.
Visitation will be held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Wallace on Saturday June 25 from 2 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 4 p.m., with Rev. Brenda Greenwald presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his memory to Tunnels to Towers (T2T.org), BP Hope Memorial (c/o Kathy Jensen W 5886 #14 Lane Wallace, MI 49893) or Gethsemane Lutheran Church Social Ministry Fund (PO Box 98 Wallace, MI 49893).
